"The 95th Percentile:" All Bandwidth for colocation clients is based on peak usage at the "95th percentile". Marlin will measure utilization at regular intervals for full duplex traffic over the client's ingress port(s) to Marlin's IP Network Backbone. Each data point represents the higher of average bytes in OR bytes out during the sampling interval, but (unlike some data centers) Marlin does not add the two maximum values. The top 5% of usage data (i.e., traffic peaks) is excluded from the usage calculation and the remaining traffic total is used for billing purposes.
Minimum Commitment: A minimum bandwidth commitment is required for all colocation solutions. A minimum bandwidth commitment for dedicated servers is optional. The bandwidth commitment is billed in advance together with the all other recurring monthly charges. A higher or lower minimum bandwidth commitment may be selected by sending this request by email at least 5 days prior to the billing date to billing@marlinesolutions.com.
Overages: Bandwidth usage above the minimum commitment will be billed in arrears at the Overage Rate indicated based on 1/4 Mbps or portion thereof. Because bandwidth usage is variable, Graphs are available online through our Support Website to assist in the selection of the appropriate Commitment Level.
